What is SynapSee?
SynapSee is a WordPress plugin that compares your own sitemap against your competitors’ sitemaps, plus live market news signal if you’ve configured it, to find content you haven’t covered yet — or have covered thinner than the competition. Each opportunity gets a score and a rating (Covered, Partial Gap, or High Gap), and you can turn any of them into a WordPress draft with one click.
Is this the same as an AI writing tool?
Not quite. Most AI writing tools start from a blank prompt — you tell it what to write, it writes it. SynapSee starts from a gap: it looks at what you’ve published, what your competitors have published, and what’s happening in your market right now, and tells you what’s missing before anything gets written. The draft it hands you afterward is a starting point built around a real gap, not a topic pulled out of thin air.
What does “bring your own key” mean?
You connect your own API key from Anthropic, OpenAI, or Google Gemini — whichever provider you already use or want to use. SynapSee makes the calls to that provider on your behalf, and the usage lands on your own account, billed at that provider’s normal rates. We never see your key in plain text and never touch your provider bill directly.
Which AI provider should I use?

Does SynapSee publish anything automatically?
No. Every opportunity becomes a WordPress draft, never a live post or page. Publishing is always a separate, deliberate step you take yourself, and every draft ships with an editor’s note flagging what to fact-check first.
What if a competitor doesn’t have a sitemap?
Switch that competitor to AI Scout mode instead of a sitemap URL, and your AI provider’s own web search browses their domain directly at analysis time. It’s opt-in per competitor since it costs a bit more on your provider bill — read when to use AI Scout instead of a sitemap for the details.
How does SynapSee know what my site covers?
From your sitemap. If you haven’t set a custom sitemap URL, it assumes yoursite.com/sitemap.xml, which covers the vast majority of WordPress installs without any configuration needed.
What’s an “editorial focus,” and do I need one?
It’s a sentence or two describing your beat — say, “capital markets and institutional wealth management.” SynapSee works without it, but recommendations stay noticeably sharper with it, since the model knows what “on-topic” actually means for your site.
What are Market Momentum Sources?
Up to three optional feeds of live news signal — either a plain topic search (like “private credit”) or a specific publisher’s feed. They add live corroboration to the analysis. Entirely optional; without them, SynapSee still compares your content to competitors, just without the real-time layer.
How much does this cost beyond the subscription?
Whatever your AI provider charges for the tokens an analysis uses — usually a few cents to a few dollars per run. See Pricing for the full breakdown.
Is my data safe?
Your API key is encrypted at rest and never displayed again after saving. Your sitemap and settings never leave your own WordPress database except to reach the AI provider you configured. Full details live in our Privacy Policy.
